John E. Adams Re-Elected Chair of ACS Board of Directors

John E. Adams, Ph.D., has been re-elected as chair of the board of directors of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world's largest scientific society. Adams will begin another one-year term on Jan. 1, 2019. He is a Curators' Distinguished Teaching Professor (emeritus) of chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1981. An ACS member since 1974, Adams earned his bachelor's degree at the Rolla campus of the University of Missouri in 1974 and his doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley in 1979.
