Research

Dr. Patrick Kinlen currently leads a Boeing discovery team focused on the development of electrically conductive polymers and smart coating systems for aerospace applications. Pat received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin and has held previous positions at Crosslink (Chief Technology Officer), Pfizer (Fellow), and Monsanto Company (Fellow). Pat has over 30 years of professional experience and is an internationally recognized expert in electroactive polymers and their applications, including: “smart” coating systems for corrosion prevention, electrostatic dissipative coatings, self-detoxifying coating systems, flexible luminescent displays, energy storage devices and active molecule delivery systems. He has authored over 30 papers and is an inventor of over 45 patents. Pat enjoys US masters swimming, alpine skiing and hiking.
